De Aaron Fox NBA Jersey/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> .Betts homered twice and drove in five runs, a performance that almost single-handedly carried the Boston Red Sox to a 5-3 victory Tuesday night.Bostons cleanup hitter launched a three-run drive in the fifth inning and added a tiebreaking two-run shot in the seventh. Betts is batting .426 with 12 homers and 18 RBI in 11 games against the Orioles this season.Exactly one-quarter of his 28 home runs this season have come in Baltimore, where the left-field foul line is a mere 333 feet from the plate. He feels comfortable in this ballpark and obviously sees the ball well, Boston manager John Farrell said.Maybe thats the reason for his success. Maybe not.Im going to continue to say I dont know why, Betts said. Im just trying to put good swings on it and enjoy it.Betts had three homers and eight RBI in a 16-2 win over Arizona on Sunday, so its not as if hes only picking on the Orioles.Im sure there are some numbers to dictate that its more us, manager Buck Showalter said, but hes been having that type of year against most everybody. The victory lifted Boston into a tie with Baltimore in the AL East, one game behind division-leading Toronto. We all are well aware of what is at stake, where we are in the standings and who is around us, Farrell said. The Red Sox were in first place on July 21, then lost 13 of 20 before their current streak of five wins in row.Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez had a no-hitter before leaving in the fifth inning with left hamstring tightness. The Red Sox hope they caught it early enough to keep the lefty in the rotation without missing a turn.Matt Barnes kept the Orioles hitless until Steve Pearce reached on a dribbler that got past the mound with one out in the seventh.Baltimore ended up batting around and tying the game at 3. After Matt Wieters hit a two-run single, Brad Ziegler (1-3) walked Adam Jones with the bases loaded before striking out Jonathan Schoop. The deadlock didnt last long. David Ortiz led off the eighth with a single against Brad Brach (7-2) and Betts lined an 0-1 pitch into the front row of seats beyond the left-field wall.Craig Kimbrel, the sixth Boston pitcher, worked a perfect ninth for his 21st save.Rodriguez and Yovani Gallardo were locked in a scoreless duel until the fifth. After Andrew Benintendi hit a leadoff double and Xander Bogaerts drew a one-out walk, Gallardo struck out Ortiz with a 2-2 fastball. Betts hit the next pitch over the left-field wall.Gallardo lasted five innings, surviving a line shot off his right forearm in the fifth. It got me pretty good, he said. Its a little stiff, but Ill be all right.PAPELBON RUMORFarrell confirmed that the team has had discussions with reliever Jonathan Papelbon, who was recently released by Washington.TRAINERS ROOMOrioles: Showalter expects reliever Darren ODay (rotator cuff strain) to spend the minimum time on the DL and return on Aug. 27. ... With his new coach and six-time Grand Slam singles champion Boris Becker watching him during an official match for the first time, Djokovic appeared tentative early against the Slovakian player, who often appeared content to keep the ball in play. BALTIMORE -- There seems to be no end to the list of players capable of carrying the Baltimore Orioles to victory this season. The latest unlikely hero is Chris Dickerson, who hit a three-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning to carry the Orioles past the Detroit Tigers 7-5 Friday night. Detroit closer Jose Valverde (0-1) entered in the ninth with a 5-3 lead after starter Max Scherzer retired the final 16 batters he faced. Nick Markakis led off with a homer on a 0-2 pitch before Adam Jones singled and took third on a single by Chris Davis. Valverde (0-1) then retired Matt Wieters and J.J. Hardy on popups before Dickerson hit a 2-1 pitch into the bleachers in right-centre, much to the delight of the sellout crowd of 46,249. Dickerson was making his first start since May 23 following a bout with a sore wrist. Batting eighth in the lineup, he was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts before connecting. "Its an amazing feeling, just to contribute in such a big situation," Dickerson said. "This team just claws back every single time. Im just so happy I could cap it off for them." He never before hit a game-ending home run at any level. "I knew right away," Dickerson said. "It was awesome. Thats the type of feeling you just want to bottle up and take home forever. First walk-off at any level. Just an incredible feeling, an incredible moment." Jones, Davis and Manny Machado have provided many big hits for the Orioles this season, but guys such as Nate McLouth, Steve Pearce and Dickerson have done their part, too. "That says a lot about our ballclub, up and down the lineup," Markakis said. "Anybody can hurt you. I think thats a positive thing weve got going for us right now." Manager Buck Showalter said, "Its not like one guys got to carry the load." Darren ODay (3-0) got the final out in the ninth for the Orioles, who have won eight of 11. Miguel Cabrera and Avisail Garcia both homered and drove in two runs for the Tigers, who have lost four straight. This one hurt more than most. "We obviously let onne get away," manager Jim Leyland said. De Aaron Fox NCAA Jersey/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal">. "Scherzer got us where we wanted to be and then we just didnt close it out. Scherzer was spent and that was going to be his last inning. His pitch count was getting up there pretty good. It was no brainer to bring in Valverde." After yielding a third-inning home run to Jones, Scherzer didnt allow another runner to reach and was poised to become the first Detroit pitcher to start a season 8-0 since Jeremy Bonderman in 2007. The right-hander struck out 10 and walked two, but he threw a season-high 119 pitches before being replaced by Valverde, who came to the mound with a 0.75 ERA. He walked off with his first loss and a 3.55 ERA. "I miss a couple of pitches," Valverde said. "They have some good hitters. Tomorrow is going to be a new day. I had a tough day. Theres nothing I can do. I feel bad for Max because he threw a good game." Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez allowed a season-high five earned runs over six innings and allowed both Detroit homers. The Tigers went up 2-0 in the first inning when Andy Dirks singled and Cabrera hit his 16th homer of the season. Hes the first Detroit player to hit 12 homers in May since Willie Horton in 1968. Baltimore got a run back in the second, getting singles from Jones and Davis before Wieters delivered a sacrifice fly. In the third, Markakis walked before Jones connected to give the Orioles a brief 3-2 lead. A two-out RBI single by Garcia tied it in the fourth, and Detroit went up 4-3 in the fifth when Dirks and Cabrera singled ahead of a run-scoring grounder by Victor Martinez. Garcia hit his second homer of the season for a 5-3 lead in the sixth. NOTES: Cabrera went 2 for 5 with a walk and took over the AL lead in hits with 81. He began the game tied with Machado, who was held hitless. ... Orioles RHP Pedro Strop, whos been on the DL since May 25 with a lower back strain, is slated to throw a simulated game Saturday. ... Justin Verlander takes the mound for Detroit on Saturday. The Orioles will start Jason Hammel, whos 7-2 overall but 1-2 with a 6.38 ERA at home. Cheap NFL Jerseys/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> Cheap NFL Jerseys China/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> Cheap Jerseys From China/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> Wholesale Jerseys ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys China/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> NFL Cheap Jerseys/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> Cheap Jerseys/>imsun; font-size:medium; line-height:normal"> ' ' '
