Stoffel Vandoorne and Lance Stroll have chosen the numbers 2 and 18 for their Formula One careers, the FIAs provisional 2017 entry list has confirmed. Puma Fierce Core Rouge .The entry list has already been amended to reflect Nico Rosbergs shock retirement as world champion, meaning Mercedes and Sauber still have a seat to fill, while Manors entire line-up is yet to be confirmed. Teams can wait until March to choose their drivers, though pre-season testing commences at the end of February.?Also of note is the TBC next to Toro Rossos engine for the season. The team has already confirmed Renault power, like parent team Red Bull, but the TBC status suggests Toro Rosso will also run the power units under the TAG Heuer branding in 2017. Red Bull reached the agreement with the Swiss company after falling out with Renault during the 2015 season.?Under F1s new rules, drivers now choose a number to accompany them for their entire career in F1, with McLaren rookie Vandoorne choosing #2. Vandoorne used the number 47 for his debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix last year, where he stepped in for the injured Fernando Alonso, but that was not a permanent choice. Stroll, set to debut at Williams alongside Valtteri Bottas, has chosen #18.FIA provisional 2017 entry list in full (Number-Driver-Entrant-Team-Chassis-Engine):8 - Romain Grosjean - Haas Formula LLC -- Haas F1 Team - Haas - Ferrari20 - Kevin Magnussen - Haas Formula LLC - Haas F1 Team - Haas - Ferrari27 - Nico Hulkenberg - Renault Sport Racing Ltd - Renault Sport Formula One Team - Renault - Renault30 - Jolyon Palmer - Renault Sport Racing Ltd - Renault Sport Formula One Team - Renault - Renault14 - Fernando Alonso - McLaren Racing Limited - McLaren Honda Formula One Team - McLaren - Honda2 - Stoffel Vandoorne - McLaren Racing Limited - McLaren Honda Formula One Team - McLaren - HondaTBC - Manor Grand Prix Racing Limited - Manor Racing MRT - MRT - MercedesTBC - Manor Grand Prix Racing Limited - Manor Racing MRT - MRT - Mercedes44 - Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited - Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport - Mercedes - MercedesTBC - Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited - Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport - Mercedes - Mercedes3 - Daniel Ricciardo - Red Bull Racing Limited - Red Bull Racing - Red Bull Racing - TAG Heuer33 - Max Verstappen - Red Bull Racing Limited - Red Bull Racing - Red Bull Racing Racing - TAG Heuer11 - Sergio Perez - Force India Formula One Team Limited - Sahara Force India F1 Team - Force India - Mercedes31 - Esteban Ocon - Force India Formula One Team Limited - Sahara Force India F1 Team - Force India - Mercedes9 - Marcus Ericsson - Sauber Motorsport AG - Sauber F1 Team - Sauber - FerrariTBC - - Sauber Motorsport AG - Sauber F1 Team - Sauber - Ferrari5 - Sebastian Vettel - Ferrari SPA - Scuderia Ferrari - Ferrari - Ferrari7 - Kimi Raikkonen - Ferrari SPA - Scuderia Ferrari - Ferrari - Ferrari55 - Carlos Sainz - Scuderia Toro Rosso SPA - Scuderia Toro Rosso - Scuderia Toro Rosso - TBC26 - Daniil Kvyat - Scuderia Toro Rosso SPA - Scuderia Toro Rosso - Scuderia Toro Rosso - TBC77 - Valtteri Bottas - Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited - Williams Martini Racing - Williams - Mercedes18 - Lance Stroll - Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited - Williams Martini Racing - Williams - Mercedes Puma Heart Satin Solde .ca NHL Power Rankings for the second straight week, ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche. Pantoufle Puma Fourrure . TURKU, Finland -- Kosovo kicked off its 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Finland on Monday in a big night for the tiny Balkan nation. It was a maiden competitive match for Kosovo as a new FIFA member, after it was accepted together with Gibraltar in May and fast-tracked into the 2018 World Cup qualifying.Kosovo coach Albert Bunjaki called it a historic match.I am very happy that the whole team showed a strong character, Bunjaki said. I believe the second half was very good. We should not forget this is a qualifier for the World Cup and that we should continue the rhythm of our play.Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was also present at the stadium and met with the players at the end of the match.Kosovos first official match was a 2-0 victory in a friendly over the Faroe Islands on June 3.Midfielder Valon Berisha converted a penalty kick in the 60th minute to salvage the point only hours after FIFA confirmed he and five other players were allowed to represent Kosovo. The case of Berisha, who played for Norway before Kosovo gained FIFA and UEFA membership in May, was the last one resolved. The five others previously represented Albania.Kosovos entry into FIFA membership has tested the rules on switching allegiance. For 13 years Kansas and Texas played, and whether they were swept, lost in four or a heartbreaking five, the Jayhawks always lost. Until Saturday night in Horejsi Family Athletics Center.Kansas beat Texas 17-25, 25-11, 27-25, 12-25, 15-10.A Jayhawks win over the Longhorns bumped Kansas from No. 6 to 4 in this weeks American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, while Texas fell to fifth.Dig in to a wild week of volleyball. No one beats Kansas 26 times in a rowTwenty-five matches of frustration turned into an exhilarating evening for Kansas, a winner over Texas for the first time since Nov. 8, 2003.The Jayhawks (20-2) survived a tense fifth set to record their first victory over the five-time Big 12 champions in 25 matches. This match between two final four teams from 2015 had plenty of drama until the final point, when the celebration mimicked the conclusion of a national championship. With Kansas up 13-7 in the fifth, Jayhawks setter Ainise Havili suffered a bloody nose, leading to an extended break while she got treatment and staff wiped the court clean. Texas won three straight before Kansas closed the match.Kansas, which outblocked Texas 13.0-9.5, punctuated the night with a block-assist from senior middle blocker Tayler Soucie and freshman outside hitter Jada Burse.Everybody had their moment tonight, said Kansas coach Ray Bechard, whose team lost to Texas in Lawrence, 3-2, a year ago and is now 5-40 in the series. Finally the Jayhawks get a big win against the Longhorns.Havili finished with 41 assists and 11 digs, her eighth double-double of the season, and outside hitter Madison Rigdon posted 16 kills. Junior All-American hitter Kelsie Payne led the team with 21 kills, eight digs and six blocks.Kansas, which has won 14 straight at home, held the Longhorns to a .028 hitting percentage in the second, third and fifth sets.Texas (17-3) had been extended to five sets in three of its other Big 12 matches (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas State), but had prevailed in each.TCU awaits the Longhorns on Wednesday in Fort Worth in a 7 p.m. match that will be televised on ESPNU. Kansas travels to Manhattan for a date that night with Kansas State.Dominating final set sends Pitt past Tar HeelsThe Panthers scored the biggest upset of their season, handing North Carolina its first loss in the ACC in five sets on Sunday. The Tar Heels had won 11 straight and not lost since dropping a five-setter at TCU on Sept. 17.Pitt benefited from having Nika Markovic return to the lineup last weekend after losing her to an injury to her right toe in early October. The toe became infected and required surgery. The Panthers top hitter, hampered for nearly a month, was in top form for Fridays win, also a five-setter, over NC State. Against the Tar Heels, Markovic had a career-best 19 kills and 10 digs, her first double-double.We didnt make any excuses, but its nice to have her back at full strength, coach Dan Fisher said. After North Carolina eked out the fourth set 25-23, Pitt dominated the fifth 15-6.The Panthers (17-7) also defeated Top 25 foes Colorado State and Michigan this season. The Tar Heels dropped from eighth to 12th in the poll.Brigham Young brings San Diego streak to a haltLike every other team San Diego (19-3) has played for the better part of the last two months, BYU didnt have answers for the high-flying Toreros when the teams met a few weeks ago in San Diego. But the Cougars continue to confound the Toreros in Provo, Utah.BYU engineered a stunning home sweep of San Diego on Friday night, snapping the Toreros 18-match winning streak while dealing them their fifth straight loss at BYUs Smith Fieldhouse. The loss was the first for San Diego (19-3) since a 3-0 setback at then-No. 2 Wisconsin on Sept. 2. The Toreros subsequent winning streak included a 3-0 home romp pastt BYU on Sept. Ciabatte Ugg Uomo. 30.It was all Cougars (20-3) Friday, though. Senior middle blocker Amy Boswell had 14 kills and freshman outside hitter McKenna Miller added 13 kills for BYU (20-3), which posted a .369 hitting percentage en route to its fourth straight victory.Im super happy with the way we played, Cougars coach Heather Olmstead said. San Diego is a really good team.San Diegos 18-match winning streak, one shy of the best in program history, was also the longest active streak in Division I. Mid-American Conference-leading Miami (Ohio), which swept Northern Illinois Saturday for its 19th straight victory, now owns Division Is longest current unbeaten stretch. The series, for what its worth, is tied at seven. BYU is No. 14; San Diego is ranked 7.OK, lets play againYour eyes werent lying if you spotted a victory for Long Beach State over UC Irvine on Sept. 24. Only it wasnt. The match has since been ruled a no-contest by the Big West Conference, a ruling upheld by the NCAA.A UCI substitution in the second set was wrongly ruled illegal by the referee during the match, and the NCAA ruled that the match had to be replayed, said Jody McRoberts, senior associate commissioner for the Big West Conference. McRoberts confirmed replaying a match is a first for the league. No makeup date has been announced. UC Irvine won the first set 25-22 and will be ahead 20-18 in the second when the match resumes. To add some juice, the teams met again on Saturday in Long Beach, with the 49ers dropping the first two sets only to rally to take sets three and four. The Anteaters Victoria Dennis directed a kill toward the back line for 14-12 in the fifth, resulting in an argument from Long Beach State coach Brian Gimmillaro. He was issued a yellow card by the official for that argument, and was subsequently issued a red card when it was ruled by the officials that he had received a yellow card earlier in the fifth set. Because the red card carried a one-point penalty, UC Irvine notched the win.Guess what that means? Another protest involving the two schools, this time by the 49ers. Long Beach State lodged a protest with match officials over the red card and will submit the appropriate documentation to the conference and NCAA offices for review.Spikes and digsCatching up on six other notables from around the sport last week.1. No team is flying higher than Dayton at 24-1. The Flyers have the nations best winning percentage and have won the Atlantic 10 regular-season title 12 times, including in 2014 and 2015. Welcome to the poll, Dayton, debuting at No. 24.2. Miami (Ohio) took over the Mid-American regular season lead and set a school record with its 19th victory in a row with a sweep of previously unbeaten conference rival Northern Illinois (19-5) on Saturday. The RedHawks are 20-4.3. Princeton, which had won 26 consecutive sets, was extended to five by Harvard in a showdown of reigning Ivy League co-champions last weekend. The Tigers prevailed in five behind a career-best 61 assists from setter Jessie Harris and 24 kills from freshman middle blocker Maggie OConnell.4. Indiana beat its highest-ranked opponent since the 2013 season, winning 3-1 over then-No. 13 Michigan on Saturday. Senior Jazzmine McDonald finished with 15 kills on 20 attempts to go with 10 blocks.5. Also in the Big Ten, No. 11 Penn State (17-6) fell to No. 2 Minnesota (17-4) and No. 3 Wisconsin (18-3). Top-ranked Nebraska (20-1) awaits the Nittany Lions on Friday.6. No. 8 Washington (19-3) and No. 9 UCLA (18-4) are tied for first atop the Pac-12 at 9-3. TAMPA, Fla. Air Max Flyknit Womens Sale . -- A doctor retained by Alex Rodriguez for a second opinion -- one that contradicted the New York Yankees diagnosis of his leg injury Wednesday -- was reprimanded this year by New Jerseys board of medical examiners over steroid prescriptions. Rodriguez is one of more than a dozen players under investigation by Major League Baseball for alleged ties to a Florida clinic accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs. The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners filed an order of reprimand against Dr. Michael Gross on Feb. 13 for his conduct at his Active Center for Health & Wellness. "The board ordered and Dr. Gross agreed to be formally reprimand(ed) for permitting an individual who had completed medical school but did not have a medical license to participate in the care and treatment of patients at the centre and failing to adequately ensure proper patient treatment involving the prescribing of hormones including steroids at the centre," according to the disciplinary summary on the New Jersey Attorney Generals division of consumer affairs website. The orthopedist was fined $30,000 and ordered to pay $10,000 in costs. The New York Daily News first reported the reprimand Wednesday and said MLB would expand its drug probe to examine Rodriguezs relationship with Gross. Rodriguez was diagnosed Sunday with a strained left quadriceps on the final day of his injury rehabilitation assignment. At the time, the Yankees said the three-time MVP was examined by team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where an MRI was performed. The team said Rodriguez had a grade one strain, which is the least severe type, and would return to Tampa for rest and treatment. But Gross said during an interview on WFAN radio Wednesday that he examined Rodriguezs scan earlier in the day. "To be perfectly honest, I dont see any sort of injury there," Gross said. "Its such a small thing that you might not see it on an MRI." He added: "I asked him does anything hurt? And he said no." Gross never personally examined Rodriguez and based his diagnosis on the MRI. He didnt return a telephone message left at his office. Under baseballs collective bargaining agreement, a player must inform his team in writing of his decision to obtain a second medical opinion. The Yankees said Rodriguez retained Gross without notifying them. "As always, we will follow the rules and regulations set forth in the Basic Agreement, and will again re-evaluate Alex in Tampa tomorrow, as our goal is to return him to the lineup as soon as he is medically capable of doing so," general manager Brian Cashman said in a statement. Cashman said Rodriguez complained of "tightness" in the quadriceps July 12 "and therefore refused to consent to the transfer of his assignment" from Class A Tampa to Triple-A Scranton. He said Rodriguez complained of stiffness again Sunday, which led to the MRI. Rodriguez arrived at the Yankees minor league complex Wednesday and spent a little over four hours there. "I feel great. Thats all Ive got to say." he said when he left, rolling down a window of the SUV he was riding in. Then he rolled up the window, gave a thumbs up as it closed and departed. Rodriguez, who turns 38 on Saturday, had been recovering from hip surgery in January. He hit .250 (8 for 40) with two homers and eight RBIs in 13 minor league games before the leg injury. Outfielder Curtis Granderson, coming back from a broken pinkie, talked with Rodriguez in the clubhouse. "I saw him briefly as soon as I came in," Granderson said. "He wanted to come hit with us, but he had to get some stuff taken care of. Almost like a kid out at recess, they had to stop him. You cant go yet. But its all good signs knowing that hes eager and ready" to return. Granderson said Rodriguez was in a good mood. "Smiling, talking," Granderson said. "Doesnt seem any different than what Ive seen in the past." If he cant play, the Bills are likely to use a mix of Greg Salas and Marquise Goodwin in his place. Left tackle Cordy Glenn is out because of an ankle injury, and 2014 second-round pick Cyrus Kouandjio will receive his third career start in Glenns place. -- Mike RodakMiami DolphinsThe Dolphins put starting defensive end Mario Williams, who didnt finish last weeks game, in concussion protocol.?Williams didnt practice Wednesday, and his status is in question for Sundays game against New England. If Williams cannot play, Cameron Wake will get more reps in his place. Wake played just 29 snaps as a situational pass-rusher but would have to increase his workload with a shorter rotation at defensive end. -- James WalkerNew England PatriotsLinebacker Donta Hightower was not present at Wednesdays practice after he injured his knee on the second series of the opener. He played through the injury, but his status bears monitoring this week. Meanwhile, tight end Rob Gronkowski and left tackle Nate Solder, both of whom missed the season opener because of hamstring injuries, were limited participants in Wednesdays practice. Unless this changes in the next two days, it likely means they will be questionable for Sundays home opener against the Dolphins. If Gronkowski doesnt play, the Patriots will once again rely on Martellus Bennett as the top tight end?option; he played 69 of 71 offensive snaps in the season opener. -- Mike ReissNew York JetsThe Jets are in good shape for Thursday night against the Bills. The only two notable injuries are defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (ankle, toe) and linebacker David Harris (shoulder), both of whom are questionable. The team expects both to play, though Harris will be less than 100 percent, especially in a short week. The injury?happened three weeks ago, and hes still undergoing treatment. He played every defensive snap in the opener. -- Rich CiminiAFC NORTHBaltimore RavensWide receiver Breshad Perriman is on the injury list again. Hes dealing with a minor calf issue, but it was enough to keep him sidelined Wednesday, and it could keep him out of Sundays game against the Browns. Without Perriman, the Ravens would rely even more on Mike Wallace in the deep passing game. Linebacker Elvis Dumervil remains out with a foot injury, and its unlikely hell play. With backup ZaDarius Smith also sidelined by an ankle injury, Baltimore might look to rookie Matt Judon to be an outside edge rusher. -- Jamison HensleyCincinnati BengalsTight end Tyler Eifert?said Wednesday that he would miss Sundays game against the Steelers. His ankle injury is still keeping him off the practice field. Cornerback Darqueze Dennard practiced fully for the first time, which indicates that he could return to the lineup Sunday. C.J. Uzomah, Eiferts replacement who had only one catch as a rookie, had a breakout game against the Jets, with a 54-yard pass reception. Dennard will likely man the slot upon his return.?-- Katherine TerrellCleveland BrownsJosh McCown takes over for Robert Griffin III at quarterback?with Griffin sidelined by a fracture in his shoulder. Im full speed ahead with Josh, coach Hue Jackson said. The only other injury of note was to backup safety Derrick Kindred, who was limited by an ankle on Wednesday. Kindred played well in relief of Ibraheim Campbell in the opener. -- Pat McManamonPittsburgh SteelersLinebacker Ryan Shazier missed Wednesdays practice because of a knee injury, and though it isnt considered serious, his status for the Bengals game is in doubt. Shazier, fresh off an interception in Week 1, is pushing hard behind the scenes. He doesnt want to miss any time. -- Jeremy FowlerAFC SOUTHHouston TexansBesides inside linebacker Brian Cushing and left tackle Duane Brown, who will definitely not play Sunday against the Chiefs, the Texans are relatively healthy. Coach Bill OBrien said Brown and Cushing are weeks away from returning. While Brown has been out, tackle Chris Clark has played in his place. He played every offensive snap Sunday and was solid against the Bears. After Cushing left Sundays game early in the first quarter, Max Bullough filled in at inside linebacker and improved as the game went along, registering five combined tackles, including one for a loss. The Texans have depth at linebacker, including Akeem Dent and Brian Peters. -- Sarah BarshopIndianapolis ColtsOutside linebacker Robert Mathis did not practice Wednesday because of a foot injury. He said on his weekly radio show on WNDE 1260 AM in Indianapolis that he has a hyperextended toe and is wearing a protective boot. The Colts cant afford to lose Mathis, who was held out of the preseason, because?they had only one sack in their Week 1 loss to Detroit. Trent Cole, who had three sacks last season, will likely start if Mathis doesnt play. -- Mike WellsJacksonville JaguarsRunning back Chris Ivory was released from the hospital Tuesday, but the Jaguars arent sure whether hell be available for Sundays game in San Diego. Ivory was hospitalized Sunday morning with what the team said was a general medical issue. Ivory did not practice Wednesday, though he is expected to hold a news conference to address his injury at some point this week. If Ivory does not play against the Chargers -- and thats the way its looking -- the Jaguars might give kick returner Corey Grant some reps on offense, in addition to Denard Robinson. Ivory is expected to return to the field at some point, but it looks like that will be next week at the earliest. -- Mike DiRoccoTennessee TitansOutside linebacker Derrick Morgan (left hamstring) was out Wednesday, but coach Mike Mularkey left open the possibility that Morgan could practice Thursday, and that would give him a chance to play. If the Titans are without him, David Bass and two rookies -- Kevin Dodd and Aaron Wallace -- will combine to fill in, and Mularkey expects production. The Titans were thin behind Morgan and Brian Orakpo last season, which was a big reason they spent the first pick of the second round on Dodd. -- Paul KuharskyAFC WESTDenver BroncosAll eyes are on wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who is getting treatment on the left hip injury he suffered in the first quarter of the regular-season opener against the Panthers. Thomas was held out of Mondays practice, but he practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. Coach Gary Kubiak said Thomas took about a third of the reps in Wednesdays practice. Kubiak added that Thomas is on course to make it to Sunday. The Broncos could be helped by the fact that they played Thursday because that meant they could give Thomas treatment through the weekend. At Wednesdays practice, Thomas could be seen hitting his left hip after he ran at times. The Broncos have some depth issues overall, given that?Bennie Fowler, the teams No. 3 receiver in training camp, is still trying to come back from the fracture near his right elbow that he suffered in the preseason opener. -- Jeff LegwoldKansas City ChiefsRight guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif has a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to be available when the Chiefs play the Texans on Sunday. The Chiefs would fill in with their veteran backup, Zach Fulton, who is a former starter, but the injury still comes at a bad time. Duvernay-Tardif had one of the best games of his career last week against the Chargers, and the Chiefs were hoping for offensive line stability, something they didnt have last season. Duvernay-Tardif was injured on the games final play, quarterback Alex Smiths overtime touchdown run. -- Adam TeicherOakland RaidersThe Raiders makeshift offensive line, which helped them to that epic comeback win in New Orleans, has questions all over the place, especially on the right side. While backup right tackle Austin Howard practiced fully Wednesday for the first time since he sprained his right ankle on Sept. 1, center Rodney Hudson (knee), left guard Gabe Jackson (left knee) and right tackles Menelik Watson (groin) and Matt McCants (left knee) all sat out practice. Hudson and Jackson are expected to play in Sundays home opener against the Falcons, but keep an eye on rookie guard/tackle Vadal Alexander, who was a healthy scratch Sunday in New Orleans. -- Paul GutierrezSan Diego ChargersJoey Bosa is still nursing a hamstring injury and did not practice Wednesday, which means the rookie defensive end will likely miss his second game when the Chargers play host to the Jaguars in the teams home opener on Sunday. Bosa has not participated in a padded practice since he signed his rookie deal on Aug. 29. Like Ive been saying, hes day-to-day, Chargers coach Mike McCoy said. I really cant give you a great update until hes out here in pads and hes out here practicing with the team. Then his odds will go way up, whether or not hes going to play in a game. But Im never going to rule him out until hes officially out. -- Eric D. WilliamsNFC EASTDallas CowboysLeft tackle Tyron Smith (stinger) and cornerback Orlando Scandrick (hamstring) were knocked from the opener because of injuries, but the Cowboys believe that because they were able to return to the game, there shouldnt be issues moving forward. Smiths injury was a reoccurrence of a training camp hit, and he is being fitted for a larger neck roll. Scandrick has battled through a hamstring injury before. Both players were able to go through full practices on Wednesday. -- Todd ArcherNew York GiantsThe Giants are shockingly healthy, even though they lost reserve linebacker J.T. Thomas for the season in the opener. All 22 starters are practicing this week and are expected to play. Linebacker?Jonathan Casillas hand might be the only concern, but that isnt serious. -- Jordan RaananPhiladelphia EaglesTight end Zach Ertz is expected to be sidelined this week after he suffered a rib displacement against the Browns. Its a dangerous situation with a displaced bone, coach Doug Pederson said. You are talking up around the neck and head area, so any type of blow again could do further damage to that. Thats why its a week-to-week deal to see how it heals and recovers. Trey Burton could have a fairly significant role in Ertzs absence. Starting cornerback Leodis McKelvin is also week-to-week because of a hamstring injury. Ron Brooks and rookie Jalen Mills will be called on to pull extra weight if he cant go. -- Tim McManusWashington RedskinsThe Redskins are a healthy team, and there isnt much concern, though defensive end Chris Baker was limited in practice because of rib and knee issues. Losing him would be a big blow, considering he is the teams best defensive lineman, but at this point, it appears hell play. -- John KeimNFC NORTHChicago BearsThe biggest injury concern for the Bears is still Kyle Longs left shoulder. Long is determined to play the entire year on a torn labrum, but he is often in visible pain during and immediately after games. Long deserves a ton of credit for attempting to play through such a difficult shoulder injury, but there is concern that eventually the shoulder will simply give out. Long is such an important member of the offensive line. Its hard to envision the Bears running the football successfully without him?at right guard, where he has been voted to multiple Pro Bowls. -- Jeff DickersonDetroit LionsDeAndre Levy missed practice Wednesday and was the only player not at least partially available for Detroit. If Levy were unable to play Sunday, it would leave a massive hole at linebacker. The teams depth there would be thin, and?Kyle Van Noy or rookie Antwione Williams would likely have to fill in. The play of both would be a drop-off from one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL. -- Michael RothsteinGreen Bay PackersCornerback Sam Shields sustained his second concussion in less than nine months late in Sundays win over the Jaguars. It was his fourth since 2011. He missed a month last time he was concussed, but the time before that, he played the following week. The Packers were so thin at cornerback on Wednesday -- rookie Josh Hawkins (hamstring) was also out -- that practice-squad receiver Herb Walker had to line up on defense. -- Rob DemovskyMinnesota VikingsLeft tackle Matt Kalil was seen leaving the teams training facility in a T-shirt and shorts just before practice started Wednesday, and Kalil was listed as a non-participant because of the hip injury that has bothered him for a couple weeks. Kalil said at the end of training camp that he was simply resting up some little things, but given the tackles injury history -- and the task the Vikings face Sunday night against a blitz-heavy Packers defense -- it bears watching what the Vikings do with Kalil the rest of the week. -- Ben GoesslingNFC SOUTHAtlanta FalconsThe Falcons top two wide receivers, Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, are dealing with ankle injuries. Both were limited during Wednesdays practice, as the Falcons continued preparation for Sundays matchup with the Raiders. Jones told ESPN hes going to be fine, while Sanu said Im good when asked about his ankle. Another key offensive player, running back?Devonta Freeman, was limited Wednesday by a quad injury. -- Vaughn McClureCarolina PanthersRunning back Jonathan Stewart showed up on the injury report with a sprained ankle that coach Ron Rivera expressed no concern about. Stewart isnt sure how he suffered it. Safety Dean Marlowe (hamstring) was limited in practice, but he appears close to being ready to give the Panthers much-needed depth at the position. -- David NewtonNew Orleans SaintsThe Saints know they wont have top cornerback?Delvin Breaux for about six weeks, which is a huge loss, considering theyre about to face Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants. The biggest issue this week is whether left tackle?Terron Armstead can get closer to 100 percent with his quad injury. Armstead will play, but he admitted to shaking off some rust last week. He is one of the Saints two or three best players and will face a tough challenge against Giants pass-rusher?Olivier Vernon. -- Mike TriplettTampa Bay BuccaneersThis isnt really a question -- its definitive that defensive end Jacquies Smith is done for the season because of a torn ACL. He led the team with four sacks this preseason and was the top pass-rushing defensive end the past two seasons. Although the Bucs have more of a rotation going along the defensive line, this still hurts. How much? That depends on who steps in. Theyll have William Gholston for their base defense, but in terms of a pass-rusher? Noah Spence didnt line up on the left at all during camp. Hes an option, as is Howard Jones. Also?keep an eye out for DaVonte Lambert. -- Jenna LaineNFC WESTArizona CardinalsThe biggest injury concern for the Cardinals this week is right guard Evan Mathis, who sustained a mid-foot sprain in the second quarter Sunday night. He didnt practice Wednesday, and coach Bruce Arians listed Mathis as day-to-day and added that the team?will see how Mathis practices Thursday, if hes able to take the field. With defensive end?Frostee Rucker out two to three weeks because of an MCL injury, Ed Stinson has been taking his snaps, and?Rodney Gunter has been working at right end. -- Josh WeinfussLos Angeles RamsThe Rams need as much help as they can get at wide receiver, but it doesnt look like theyll get it immediately. Nelson Spruce (knee) and Pharoh Cooper (shoulder) were both inactive for Week 1 and probably wont be available in Week 2. Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Spruce is probably a week or two away. He has yet to comment on Cooper, who injured himself while making an acrobatic catch in the third preseason game, but shoulder injuries take time. Both can be major assets in the intermediate passing game that suits Case Keenums skill set. -- Alden GonzalezSan Francisco 49ersThe 49ers came out of the season opener relatively healthy, with only two additions to the injury report Wednesday. One guy to keep an eye on is defensive lineman Arik Armstead. He has been battling a shoulder issue, and that limited him in the preseason and in Wednesdays practice. The Niners used him mostly on passing downs in the opener, but theyre hoping to work him in more as he continues to manage the injury. He was effective in a fairly small sample size against the Rams, and the 49ers are hoping more reps mean a breakout season for the 2015 first-round pick. -- Nick WagonerSeattle SeahawksRussell WIlsons right ankle will be in the spotlight Sunday against the Rams. Wilson suffered a sprain last week against the Dolphins, but he practiced Wednesday, and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said he expects the quarterback to be full go this weekend. If Wilson is limited from a mobility standpoint on Sunday, Bevell will have to adjust the game plan accordingly. But barring a setback, the team is counting on Wilson to start. HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans activated star defensive end J.J. Watt from the physically unable to perform list Saturday, and waived 18 players.Watt, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, missed the entire preseason after having back surgery in July. He has started every game in his five-year career and is expected to start next Sundays opener against Chicago.Coach Bill OBrien said Friday that Watt was doing much better than a couple of weeks ago and that it looks looks decent for him to play against the Bears. Watt hasnt spoken to the media in a month, but when he did talk to reporters at the start of training camp he noted that he doesnt necessarily need preseason work to play in Week 1.In 2012, I missed all of training camp and didnt have a problem there, he said on July 31. I dont see this being a problem. I dont plan on missing my first game now, but I cant promise it. It makes this so much more satisfying for me, because hes the benchmark and I took the world championship away from him.Rosberg ended on 385 points to Hamiltons 380.Just like his father, Rosberg drives in the No. 6 car.His 67-year-old father was one of the most flamboyant drivers of his generation.Every Saturday night I get a text from him: `Pedal to the metal. Thats it, Rosberg said. Its been good how hes let me get on with it and taken a step back. So Im very thankful for that.Rosbergs title went down to the wire in a nerve-shredding finale.I was relieved his father said after the race in the F1 paddock. Two laps from the end I was nervous. With Hamilton purposefully slowing him down, two other drivers hard on his tail and the title on the line, Rosberg did not crack.Hamilton won the race from pole position for his 53rd GP win. But Rosberg was 12 points ahead of him before the race and only needed to finish no lower than third if Hamilton won.It was so intense, the race, so tough, said the 31-year-old Rosberg, who finished runner-up to Hamilton in the past two years.Rosberg repeatedly wiped his face and lowered his head several times in the post-race news conference, appearing emotionally exhausted as he tilted back into his chair and rubbed his eyes.Still, he expects to find plenty of energy to celebrate his win.Tonights going to be absolutely nuts, he said. I dont think Im going to be available for a few days.Hamilton made it hard for Rosberg by disobeying team orders to speed up near the end, in a bid to back Rosberg toward Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen in third and fourth places, respectively. If I had dropped behind those guys, it was over, Rosberg said. Nike Urh Femme. Vettel could not quite pass Rosberg, finishing third ahead of Verstappen and fourth overall in the championship behind Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.Nico drove well not to make a mistake, said Hamilton, who won 10 races this year.As Hamilton deliberately slowed in the later stages of the race, his team told him over race radio to up the tempo.Hamilton ignored them and then even ignored a direct order from Mercedes executive director Paddy Lowe four laps from the end.I dont know why they just didnt let us race, Hamilton said. Its a bit of a shame.Vettel was a wheels length away from him on the final lap, but Rosberg kept his cool and his elation was evident as he let out a delighted screech of Yes! World champion! when he crossed the line. Then he jumped out of his car and danced around the track before being hugged by his mechanics and was tossed into the air by his Mercedes crew.He then grabbed Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone and lifted him into the air.On the podium, Rosbergs eyes were watering as the weight of his achievement sank in and he thanked his wife, who also wiped away tears nearby.Rosberg survived earlier drama when he was close to colliding with Verstappen on lap 21 as they jostled for second place. For the Mercedes pair, the race had started serenely. With the sun setting on the Yas Marina track, Hamilton was on pole for the 12th time this season and got away cleanly, as did Rosberg.Meanwhile, Verstappens car went into a spin following contact shortly after the start, dropping him down from sixth to last, but the daring Dutchman soon caught up.Hamilton came in for his first tire change on the eighth lap, and Rosberg came in for his on the next lap.But the German driver was held up for a couple of seconds by Vettel, who was just coming in for his stop, and when he came out, he was behind Verstappen and Hamilton.Rosberg needed to overtake Verstappen, the youngest driver to win an F1 race who has earned a reputation for his risky, borderline dangerous overtaking and has upset other drivers this season. They twice almost came into contact, but Rosberg showed great courage to then pass him.The battle out there with Max was unreal, Rosberg said. CHICAGO -- Before the Chicago Cubs completed a trade for Aroldis Chapman, owner Tom Ricketts and president of baseball operations Theo Epstein decided they had to hear from the closer himself about a domestic violence allegation in the offseason. Triple White Huarache Womens .So Ricketts and Epstein asked Major League Baseball for a window to speak with the left-hander, and they got him on the phone Monday. When the conversation was over, the blockbuster deal was on.Chasing their first World Series title since 1908, the Cubs addressed one of their few weaknesses by sending a pricey package of four players to the New York Yankees for Chapman, one of the most dominant relievers in the game, but one who also comes with some risk for a franchise riding a positive wave. This is a game-changer. Aroldis Chapman is a game-changing-type pitcher in the postseason, Epstein said. As you sit around and game plan how youre going to win a big game or how youre going to win a postseason game, it makes it look a lot easier when you see him there on your lineup card.Chapman is expected to join the Cubs for Tuesday nights game at the crosstown White Sox.For the Yankees, it was a rare July trade that saw the best player in the deal leaving New York. But Chapman is eligible for free agency after this season, New York also has All-Stars Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances in the bullpen, and its haul included top shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres, versatile pitcher Adam Warren and minor league outfielders Billy McKinney and Rashad Crawford. This was an easy call, and this was the right call, general manager Brian Cashman said. Easy because we traded from an area of strength and we are excited about the players that weve received for someone that obviously was only under control for two more months. The Yankees had won six of eight heading into Monday nights game at Houston, but they still face long odds of getting to the playoffs. They made the decision to trade Chapman after his agents said he would not agree to a new contract that would start in 2017, a person familiar with the talks said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no public statement on those talks was authorized. If New York slips back any further, it could engage in a rare sell-off for the franchise. Miller, signed through 2018, also could be traded. All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran, first baseman Mark Teixeira and pitcher Ivan Nova are eligible for free agency after the season and could be sought by contenders.I think that when the right buy-or-sell circumstance presents itself, then this department will be making recommendations to ownership and then they will direct me on what they want, Cashman said. The 28-year-old Chapman went 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA and 20 saves in 31 games for New York. He threw a 105.1 mph fastball to Baltimores J.J. Hardy last week, matching the fastest since Major League Baseball began tracking speeds in 2008.With lefty-batting sluggers Bryce Harper of Washington and Brandon Belt of San Francisco possibly looming in the playoffs, the addition of Chapman gives Cubs manager Joe Maddon one of the majors top assets when in need of a late strikeout. The Cubs have been playing really good baseball, Chapman said through a translator before he left Houston to travel to Chicago. I think theyre probably one of the better teams in both leagues right now. They have a good rhythm right now. Theyre fighting to get that ring, so it might be a good experience for me to be there.Chapman, who threw the 62 fastest pitches in the majors last season, was traded from Cincinnati to New York last December after a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers fell through when it was learned Florida police investigated an accusation of domestic violence involving the Cuban pitcher.Prosecutors declined to file charges, citing conflicting accounts, and Chapman was suspended for the first 29 games of the season, losing $1,856,557 of his $11,325,000 salary. He was the first player penalized a finite number of games under Major League Baseballs domestic violence policy.I regret that I did not exercise better judgment and for that I am truly sorry, Chapman said Monday in a statement released by the NL Central-leading Cubs. Looking back, I feel I have learned from this matter and have grown as a person. My girlfriend and I have worked hard to strengthen our relationship, to raise our daughter together, and would appreciate the opportunity to move forward without revisiting an event we consider part of our past.Epstein said the club thoroughly investigated the situation. But it wasnt until they spoke with Chapman on Monday that they were ready to complete the deal. There was genuine sorrow, regret, Epstein said. Hes open about the fact that hes learned from the incident and that he feels hes grown as a person and will continue to grow as a person and that was important to us.Asked if the Cubs spoke with Chapmans girlfriend or someone close to her, Epstein said they took efforts to make sure they looked at the issue from every possible side.Warren was drafted by New York and made his major league debut with the Yankees in 2012. He was traded to Chicago in the December deal that moved infielder Starlin Castro from the Cubs to the Yankees. But the centerpiece of the Yankees package is the 19-year-old Torres, one of the top infield prospects in baseball. Were disappointed we swung and missed in our efforts to sign him as an international free agent back in the 2013 class, but certainly you keep your eyes on players youve liked in the past and he was definitely a target for us, Cashman said.---AP Baseball Writer Ronald Blum in New York and AP Sports Writer Kristie Rieken in Houston contributed to this report.---Jay Cohen can be reached at http://www.twitter.com/jcohenap Nike Cortez Mens Sale . BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Jeremy Langford had a pretty good tutor to follow last year in Matt Forte. Now he has a big opportunity for the Chicago Bears.Langford came to camp as the front-runner in a stiff competition to replace one of the most successful running backs in franchise history after showing some promise as a rookie last season.Mentally, I feel like Im ready to go, he said Friday. But football, its all a process. Its only the second day of camp and weve been off for a long time. As the camp goes, I will feel a lot better and a lot more confident in knowing the playbook in and out.The Bears are trying to make a jump after finishing last in the NFC North in their first season under coach John Fox and general manager Ryan Pace. They rebuilt their defense and reworked their offensive line. But they also lost two of their most productive players on offense when they traded outspoken tight end Martellus Bennett and decided not to re-sign Forte. The two-time Pro Bowl running back is second in franchise history to Hall of Famer Walter Payton in yards rushing (8,602), receptions (487), yards from scrimmage (12,718), 100-yard rushing games (24) and games with 150 yards or more from scrimmage (25). He was also one of the more popular players in the locker room, someone teammates could turn to for advice about everything from training to football to parenting. But the Bears had a long list of areas to address. They wanted to get younger and they believed they could replace Forte.Langford showed glimpses as a rookie last season that he was capable of handling a heavier load, finishing with 537 yards rushing and 279 receiving while forging his way into the rotation. He was particularly effective in back-to-back wins at San Diego and St. Louis midway through the season while Forte was injured. His 72 yards rushing and 70 receiving against the Chargers turned a few heads and he didnt let up the following week against the Rams. He had an 83-yard touchdown catch and finished with 109 yards receiving to go with 73 yards rushing and a touchdown.I think I can plaay all three downs, Langford said. Nike Huarache 2018. Thats what I want to do and prove -- that I am capable of that. But theres a lot of guys in the room that can do it as well. The Bears plan to use a rush-by-committee approach with Langford, KaDeem Carey, Jacquizz Rodgers and fifth-round pick Jordan Howard in order to keep their running backs fresh and take advantage of an opportunity when one of them is playing well.Id like them all to stand out, Fox said. Thats why we build competition. Thats why were here at camp. Not just at the running back position, that would include every position on our football team.Langford sounds determined to show he can be the No. 1 running back, a spot Forte held for eight years. He has worked on becoming a better receiver after the coaches called on him to do just that. He bulked up, adding a few extra pounds, in an effort to handle a greater load and gain a few more yards after being hit. What separates Langford at the moment is his speed and there could be opportunities playing behind what the Bears believe is a more athletic line, particularly on the right side. They moved three-time Pro Bowl pick Kyle Long back to right guard after he filled in at right tackle and brought in veteran right tackle Bobby Massie. The expectations are higher now -- for the Bears and Langford.I welcome them, especially playing in Chicago, he said. They love the Bears.Game notes Fox would not say how much time Long is expected to sit out because of a strained left calf or confirm if he had an MRI. MEMPHIS, Tenn. Air Max 2018 Sort . -- The Memphis Grizzlies call it grit and grind, and it got them through another ugly game. Marc Gasol scored 20 points and hit two free throws with 1:03 left to put Memphis ahead to stay, and the Grizzlies held off Oklahoma City 87-81 Saturday to take a 2-1 lead in this Western Conference semifinal. Gasol scored 16 in the second half as Memphis remained unbeaten at home in the post-season. The Grizzlies pulled out the win in a choppy performance for both teams following a three-day layoff since Game 2 with the Thunder beating them at their own game, dominating the boards and in the paint. After struggling at the free throw line in Oklahoma City, the Grizzlies hit all six at the line in the final 1:03 to clinch it. "We just stayed after it like weve done all year long," Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said. "Its not always pretty. Tonight wasnt pretty, but it was pretty for us because we got the win." Game 4 is Monday night in Memphis, and Hollins wants one more home win for a franchise in its second Western semifinal in two seasons. The Grizzlies lost to Oklahoma City in seven games in 2011 after splitting Games 3 and 4 in Memphis. But they are 18-1 at home since Feb. 8. "Id rather take my chances with where were sitting now and try to win all of our home games," Hollins said. "We got a long way to go, and we got to keep battling." Kevin Durant scored 25 points, but only two in the fourth quarter. A 91 per cent free throw shooter in the regular season, Durant missed two with 39.3 seconds left. Durant also had 11 rebounds and five assists. "Its frustrating, but we cant hang our heads," Durant said. "We have to keep playing and keep improving. We just have to learn from it. We have to embrace the tough times and get better from it. I believe in my teammates." Though his teammates, with Russell Westbrook out with a knee injury, need to give him more help. The Thunder had their worst scoring and shooting performance this post-season. Reggie Jackson had 16 points for Oklahoma city, and Kevin Martin and Serge Ibaka each added 13. Jackson and Ibaka also grabbed 10 rebounds apiece. Durant went 3 of 11 from the floor in the second half, and his teammates went a combined 23 of 69 for the game. Tony Allen had his best game in this series, scoring 14 points for Memphis. Jerryd Bayless added 11. Zach Randolph scored only eight points but had 10 rebounds. "It was definitely a good feeling because we didnt play the best Grizzlies basketball that we know we can play as a team," Randolph said. Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks insisted he liked the shots his Thunder took, even though they didnt get as many wide-open looks beyond the arc as they did in the first two games. "We are hopeful that we get those same shots in the next game," Brooks said. The Grizzlies built leads repeatedly, getting to as much as 10 in the second quarter. Memphis won despite not winning in the categories the Grizzlies usually dominate. The Thunder outrebounded them 51-44, with a 14-5 edge on the offensive glass. The Thunder also outscored the Grizz 44-30 in the paint, with a 23-7 edge on fast-break points. The Thunder didnt score after Derek Fisher hit a 3-pointer with 1:58 left, a shot tying for the eighth and final time at 81. The Grizzlies edge came from getting to the line where they hit more free throws (23 of 28) than Oklahoma City even took (12 of 19). "Obviously, they beat us in a lot of different areas tonight," said Memphis guard Mike Conley, who hit all four free throws in the final minute. "For us to come away with the win, we are very happy. We will take it, but it just goes to show we have a lot of work to do. We have to do better the next game." The rust from the layoff showed early for both teams. Ibaka missed not one but two dunks in the first half, Thabo Sefolosha had an airball and the Grizzlies, who had been so good at limiting turnovers, had five in the first quarter alone. Hollins switched up his defence on Durant from the first two games in Oklahoma City. He didnt put Allen, who finished fifth in voting for Defensive Player of the Year, on Durant until the final minutes of Game 2. This time, he alternated Allen with Tayshaun Prince defending Durant throughout the first half. Allen played Durant most of the third, and that helped limit Durant to 2 of 7 shooting in the quarter as the Thunder went 4 of 20 from the floor. "He is a great defender, dont get me wrong," Durant said about Allen. "But its the Grizzlies team defence. I need to make the right plays for my team. I missed a few shots in the second half." Memphis led 66-60 at the end of the third quarter. The Grizzlies pushed that to 71-62 on a 3 by Keyon Dooling and a 19-foot jumper by Darrell Arthur. Then the Thunder scored six straight, the last on a dunk by Martin forcing Hollins to take a timeout. The Grizzlies, who had hit only one of their first nine 3-pointers, hit 3 of 5 in the third quarter to take a 77-70 lead when Pondexter knocked down a 3 with 6:29 left. Pondexter also helped defend Durant in the fourth quarter. The Thunder led 45-44 at halftime. Durant scored 14 of the Thunders first 24 points as he connected on five of his first six shots. The Grizzlies grabbed their biggest lead at 28-18 on a 28-footer by Bayless. Then Gasol picked up his second foul with 9:02 left and went to the bench for the rest of the half. Notes: DeAngelo Williams, the former Memphis running back now with the NFLs Carolina Panthers, and rapper Lil Wayne had courtside seats with Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones also on hand. ... Durant extended his streak with 20 or more points to 35 straight playoff games. ... Durant had his second-lowest scoring game this post-season, a point off the 24 he had in the opener against Houston. ... The Thunder went 17-4 after a loss in the regular season. ... The Grizzlies had their 14th straight post-season sellout. Nike Free Run 2 Sort .
